SINGAPORE TOURIST SPOTS

Many of these Singapore tourist attractions I have visited were very interactive, very entertaining, and very educational; both for my kids and myself (it kind of close-up that generation gap!). The island has always been branded as a ‘Garden City’ and obviously she has an inventory of nature and wildlife that will surprise many. As a local, I thought I have seen it all, but I always ended up with many surprises… pleasant surprises.

SINGAPORE ZOO:

The most popular Singapore tourist attractions include the international acclaimed open-concept day and night animal kingdom (Singapore Zoo and Singapore Night Safari), the Asia Pacific’s largest birds aviary (Singapore Jurong Bird Park) and the mega theme -park on an island (The Sentosa Island). These are the “must-visit” places of interest in Singapore that will give you a fascinating experience, with memories unique to Singapore to take away.

One of the most beautiful zoos in Asia, the Singapore Zoo is a forty hectares of lush greenery. It houses more than 2000 animals of which 25% are endangered species. Due to its clever open-concept architecture, the animals are not caged up but free roaming. It uses natural barriers such as rock walls and streams to create an impression that the animals are in their natural habitat. One of the highlights in Singapore Zoo that one should not miss is the exotic Jungle Breakfast, where you get to dine with some friendly residents of the Zoo.

NIGHT SAFARI FIRE SHOW:

Adjacent to the Day Zoo, is the Singapore’s renowned Night Safari. It is first of its kind in the world where you get a chance to view nocturnal animals at close range that you don’t usual see in the day with the help of special “moonlight” lights illumination. Visitors can also take walk along illuminated trails through the jungle into the territory of tigers, rhino and sloths. It is absolutely breath-taking; one of those Singapore tourist attractions not to be missed!

SINGAPORE JURONG BIRD PARK:

The Jurong Bird Park is the largest aviary of its kind in Asia Pacific, where over 8000 birds of 600 different species from all over the world call it home. The park is beautifully landscaped with the tallest man-made waterfall in the world to enhance the beauty of the habitat. Enjoy a firsthand experience of free-flying birds from Africa to South American in the largest walk-in aviary.

GIGANTIC MERLION IN SENTOSA:

Just off the mainland of Singapore, the Sentosa Island is one spot that stands out from the rest of Singapore tourist attractions. This island is a mega theme-park with many tourist attractions such as the Underwater World, a gigantic marine life oceanarium with 2500 marine species, Dolphin Lagoon, a water show with pink dolphins.

Other Singapore tourist attractions you can expect on the Sentosa Island includes the Tiger Sky Tower where you can catch a spectacular view of the island and city, Fort Siloso Museum for a walk back to into history of Sentosa during the British colonization, Songs of the Sea for a spectacular display of water and laser show. She is also a popular resort getaway with multi-faceted appeal, teeming with events all year round.

SENTOSA SILOSA BEACH:

There are some excellent beaches along the southern side of the island which are filled with activities on the weekends. Siloso beach is the most popular and crowded, while Palawan beach is fast catching up with more and more beach bars springing into action. Tanjong beach is a relatively more secluded part of the southern coast if you prefer peace and tranquility. There are also some fascinating walking trails and range of other Sentosa attractions in the island for exploration if you prefer to be close to nature.

These famous Singapore tourist attractions and popular activities are a good start to a captivating experience in this tropical country! If time is not against you and if you look close enough, she has lot more interesting places to offer to its visitors. I am sure I will uncover more hidden jewels as I explore this tiny city.
